Artisan Baskets
Tonga Basket — Sienna Halo (Large)
AED 500.00
Hand-woven ilala palm with a dyed rim.
Woven by the skilled hands of the Masvingo Women Weavers in Zimbabwe, this large, bowl-shaped basket is a beautiful testament to patience, heritage, and human creativity. The intricate herringbone chevron pattern radiates outward from a quiet central rosette, culminating in a deep, rust-dyed rim that frames the entire piece.
Every strand tells a story of the land. Crafted from sustainably gathered ilala palm leaves, wild grasses, and reeds, its rich, earthy tones are coaxed entirely from natural dyes made of local tree bark and roots. Because it is shaped by hand rather than machine, the subtle shifts in tone and texture mean no two baskets are ever exactly alike. It carries the distinct character of the artisan who made it, an enduring piece of history designed to be lived with, loved, and welcomed into contemporary spaces, whether hung as a soulful wall feature or placed as a centerpiece.
Made in Zimbabwe.
