Batik Wall Hanging — Mhuri Ye Ndlovu Burgundy
AED 300.00
Hand-painted batik cotton wall tapestry with natural plant dyes.
Centered on a moving depiction of family and lineage, this medium textile art piece showcases a majestic mother elephant standing protectively beside her small calf. The stylized figures are hand-painted against a radiant, golden-ochre backdrop detailed with a subtle, crackled wax-resist patina. Framing this soulful wildlife narrative at the top and bottom are sharp, geometric triangle bands in crisp cream, terracotta red, and gold, all beautifully enclosed by a wide, solid border of rich burgundy.
Every stage of production follows slow, generational heritage craft. Local artisans map and apply the intricate wax details entirely by hand onto premium cotton cloth before it undergoes a careful dipping process using natural, plant-based dyes. The resulting earth-toned palette gives the graphic composition an organic softness. Suspended from a clean wooden dowel with a rustic hanging strap, this textured tapestry serves as a warm, storytelling focal point well-suited for minimal and modern neoclassical spaces.
